EMERGENCY RELIEF

During natural calamities emergency reliefs are provided by volunteers of Sangh using own resources and contribution from public.

WOMEN WELFARE

Sensitisation and training of village women in Swachha Bharat Aviyan, Care, Protection of Rights, Education of Children, Protection & Development of local Forest, SHG management were the main activities during the period under report.

Comprehensive Development programme for ST & SC

i) Irrigation Facilities-
Existing Eight Reservoirs Constructed earlier in two Tribal Gram Panchayats (Niladriprasad and Damia Berbara) of Banpur Block. All the Dams at Dhuan Nali, Krushnatara, Punjiama, Khariapalli, Kasipada, Barakoli, Bighnaput and Rampur were repaired & maintained by the respective Village Committee with support of the Sangh.
ii) Provision of Drinking water facilities –
25 out of 35 Masonry wells were constructed earlier by the Sangh in different villages of the two tribal Gram Panchayats of Banpur block were maintained. At present these wells are the main sources of drinking water for the people of the tribal areas.

Residential Primary School for S.C. children

A Residential Primary School for SCs from standard I to V has been running under the Nehru Seva Sangh UPS with the support of MSJ &E, Govt. of India since 1994-95. The student strength of the project is 100. During the year 2018-19, 103 (42 boys & 61 girls) children were maintained. All the students are promoted to next higher class, out of them twenty students in Standard- V were passed out and after lock down ended, all will be taken admission for their higher study in different institutions. Free lodging, boarding, uniform, health care services and recreational facilities were provided along with moral teaching, Yogic exercises, Pre-vocational training were also imparted to students during the period under report.

Hostel for S.T. Students

The Project started in 1992-93 with the support of MOTA, Govt. of India. All total 150 (99 Girls & 51 Boys) needy poor ST students were residing in the hostel during the year under report. The students get education and training. All the students from primary to Higher Secondary standard were enrolled in the local educational institutions for formal education. Besides, the students participated in various events like, sports, cultural, social and awareness campaign etc. organised by the institution, schools, colleges, block, district and state level administration. Uniform & recreational facilities were also provided to the inmates. The platform provided for the education, helps many of our students after passing HSC and higher education have been self employed and employed under various schemes of Government like SS, Health, Police, Postal etc. as a result many parents are rushing for admission of their children in the Hostel. During this year 20 inmates in AHSC & 5 inmates in CHSE Exam appeared. Vocational training in Coconut Coir, Cane Willow & Bamboo Craft, Cutting & sewing (Tailoring), Wool Knitting, Fine Art, Kitchen garden, Fruit & Vegetables preservation and Computer education were also provided to them.
